The long chill of winter has gone and the heat of the summer is upon us so now is the time to drag out that barbeque grill and start grilling burgers, steaks, and hot dogs. If you do not have a grill or just want to get a new one because the one you have is several years old and out of date it can be daunting which barbecue grill you should get as there are so many different ones to choose from. There are small simple ones that use charcoal and charcoal starter fluid up to the large electric or propane gas grills. Which you will choose depends on a variety of factors such as how much room do you have to put a grill, how much money do you want to spend on a barbecue grill, what flavor of meat do you want, etc.
If you want your meat to have a smoky flavor you would want to purchase a charcoal grill but if you want an intense flavor in your meat the electric one would be the one to purchase. With the charcoal grill, this is the traditional way to grill and is also the one that is the least expensive to buy. The only drawback has to always purchase charcoal in order to use the grill. You have to make sure that you always keep a bag on hand if you want to do any “spur-of-the-moment” grilling. With charcoal grilling you can actually use a grill or a fire pit you can build yourself. Choosing this grill you can set it up anywhere and there are also disposable charcoal grills that you can take on picnics, camping, or fishing trips. These types are very portable.
If you do not want to mess with charcoal and the starter fluid and do not like the smell of it on your hands, you can purchase an electric grill. The biggest drawback with this type of barbecue grill is it can only be set up around an electrical outlet unless you want to run an extension card(s) around the yard to get the grill away from the house. It is a a much safer and quicker way to barbecue and can speed up how quick the food is cooked. Cooking on this type of grill you are not going to get the same exotic flavors that a gas or charcoal grill can give you nor the delicious smells.
The gas barbecue grill is the easiest to operate and is beginning to become more popular than the charcoal grills. It gives you instant high heat which in turn reduces the amount of time it takes to cook the food and in turn this makes sure that your food is being cooked evenly. They use either natural gas or bottle propane gas, which is the one that most people choose when using a gas grill. The drawback is that you will not get the intense smoky flavor of using a charcoal grill but they are reliable. A tank of propane lasts for quite awhile so you will be all ready for spontaneous barbecues.
